Foreword from Sir Robin Young, Chairman

This is an exciting time for us as the only organisation in England with the responsibility both for attracting inward investment to our region and for encouraging the international trade aspirations of our local businesses.

We have the support of central government and our regional development agency for this fresh approach and we are already seeing the benefits.

We now deliver more high quality inward investment, support more local businesses in international trade and have developed a wider range of international business support programmes. Our success exploits the skills and experience of our combined trade and investment teams.

EEI does not work alone. We rely on close working relationships with our partners and stakeholders. Our two principal funders, UK Trade & Investment and East of England Development Agency, look to EEI to deliver national and regional objectives. Our local authorities and sub-regional economic partnerships understand the needs and priorities “on the ground” locally.

Businesses in the region expect us to know what they want and we strive to deliver it.

I hope you find this site useful and we look forward to working with you.
